While you may think you need to possess some serious swagger in order to pull off the Island Fever trend I mentioned earlier this week, I have to tell you, you think wrong. Bold prints are going to be everywhere this season, but that doesn't mean you should wear them everywhere. How can you pull it off?

The Cure: Fiery Florals

A casual outing is probably best for this type of ensemble. But whether you're going on a date or making a trip to the mall, this is a great way to try a big, bold, floral print without going overboard. Choose one piece of your ensemble to wear a print. Most may choose a blouse, covered by a sweater or blazer for a subdued look, others may make it the blazer, and yet others may choose the up and coming print pant. Next, highlight one of the colors in the print with another item of clothing, and finish off the outfit with neutrals. In my case, my print is the blazer, complemented with the blouse, and white skinny jeans. Pair with a great shoe that spotlights the season and any accessories you with to add.

There is one shoe that should be on everyone's Spring/Summer wishlist...a cross-band wedge! This timeless warm weather classic can literally go with just about every ensemble you can imagine. With all of the new trends walking their way down the runway, one very special one caught my eye, probably because I have a little bit of island fever, but if I can't go to the islands, why not bring them to me!
Stella McCartney highlighted a retro Hawaiian feel this spring, combine that with clean sporty lines and neoprene fabrics and you evoke a version of modern nostalgia.

Hawaiian prints, color-blocking, sporty minis, bright colors and exotic florals all awaken that island feel. I love me some riding boots, especially a pair with a bit of a heel! They are great for winter and a great transition piece to spring. Who am I kidding, I wear a riding boot all year long, so of course I'm willing to shell out a bit of extra cash to invest in a fabulous pair! Jil Sander has a beautiful Italian made leather boot with back-zip and snap button. The snap buttons get me every time, but they dont convince me to spend $1253 on a pair of boots.

Who loves a great basic?!? I do, I do, especially one I can wear with pretty much everything. Never to disappoint Giuseppe Zanotti's round toe nappa leather pump is a basic worth investing in. The classic silhouette and moderate heel are a perfect compliment to any outfit. With a $550 price tag it's a shoe that I would definitely consider purchasing, but deep down I think there may be something better.

Ok ladies today is the day, Black Friday, the annual shop till you drop post Thanksgiving craze. What it means is that more likely than not you will be spending most of your day in a dressing room trying on fabulous clothes that you're going to get fabulous deals on. The most important thing to remember about dressing for today, easy on easy off, it will make your dressing room experience that much less stressful!

The Cure: Simple Shopping Chic

My first suggestion is going to be black leggings, lets not kid ourselves, after a day full of eating our denim may not be that comfortable. Wear a pair with something extra, like a zipper up the back, to give your look edge. Next, go for a ponch sweater, it will save you from carrying a jacket around and keep you warm. I like this one because it cinches at the waist, layer it over a simple long sleeve white tee, or an embellished one if you think you might lose the poncho later in the day. As for shoes, you might be surprised, but I'm going to suggest a wedge, the heel height is comfortable for all day wear, they slide on and off quickly, and probably give your arches more support than a pair of flats.

Are you looking for something fun and funky this season? How about the Pasha from 3.1 Phillip Lim. This pointed toe pump with thin throat will certainly give your ensemble some edge. The only drawback, I have a really hard time spending a significant sum on a pair that I may only get one season out off, and I think $395 is a bit pricey for this pair.

I was watching an old episode of Sex in the City the other night and found myself salivating at all of the shoes that adorned Carrie Bradshaw's feet. As a Manolo Blahnik buff I'm sure that she would have the Blixa in her closet. The alligator pump with a pointed toe and open vamp seem like the one of kind styles that would have a special place in her closet. I wish they could have a special place in mine, but $4600 is quite a pipe dream.

I often find that when the temperatures start to decrease I end up wearing more black and gray. Could be a reflection of my mood with the cold, could be my subconscious thinking for some reason these colors will keep me warmer, whatever it is, this year I'm going to try to break the habit!

Now I'm not saying to eliminate blacks and grays all together, they really are the foundation of any good wardrobe, but they need to be brightened up. Find a pair of colored denim in a color that you're comfortable with and block it with a complimenting shade. In this particular outfit we have a bright blue and green. Use your black as a balancing piece as seen in the blazer and clutch, but throw another color into the mix in your shoe for contrast.

Animal print is here to stay and one of my favorite ways of adding pop to an outfit is with an animal print flat. This leopard print penny loafer from Prada is just the right amount of animal accent for any type of ensemble. It's classically chic with it's simple design and bold print. So boot season is finally here!!! I kicked it off by wearing a pair last weekend as I was on the hunt for a brand new pair. Shopoholics anonymous here I come. On my quest I did find an absolutely astounding pair of Prada riding boots. This slip on style with a round toe and ankle buckle in gold that compliments the warm brown leather was like butter and I was ready to slather it all over my feet until I saw that these beautiful riding boots cost $1,350. The hunt continues...

I did not lose hope for I found another great riding boot with a price that leaves me with cash to spare!

Timberland's Bethel Buckle is a bit more rugged in its styling but the added bonus is that this shoe is made to be environmentally friendly. I just love the buckle around the ankle (the key accent) and the notched strap at the top. Gold and brown blend together beautifully making this a great affordable choice, just $186!

Do you ever have those days where you want your darker side to show but you don't want to dress in all black? Lucky Magazine might have a look for you to try. Pucci, Anna Sui, and Tory Birch showed off this opulent style on the runway. Baroque Bohemian is a look drenched in "flamboyant shades and rich textures...decadent fabrics" with a slight 70's influence and rocker flare.

Key pieces to pull this look off include stretch velvet pants, velvet blazers, embellished blouses, and over the top, voluminous coats. Ok so now that it is officially well after Labor Day, I am going full force into Fall Fashion. One of my basic necessities for fall is a fab flat and boy did I find a truly fabulous one. The Jimmy Choo "Wigmore" is more than just a flat, it is the be it and end all of cute, coquettish, ballerina street-wear. The patent leather is perfection and the cap toe complete with logo adds just the right amount of contrast. Of course I'm not sure any amount of contrast is worth $450.

On the other hand, Me Too has an similar style that doesn't make you a walking advertisement. Instead of a cap toe, this flirty little flat has a great braided chain to break up the patent leather. Best of all, this price is a huge contrast to those pricey Jimmy Choo's, for just $88 I get my ballerina street-wear for running around town without running out of cash!

Could you really ask for better when you combine kitten heels, pointy toes, red suede and a bow??? Isabel Marant has a shoe that is to die for. I'm not the only one who hasn't been won over by this particular Parisian like pair, Anne Hathaway, Hilary Duff, Lisa Snowden, Elle MacPherson, Katie Holmes, and Kate Bosworth are also smitten. Of course they won't keel over at a glace at the price. Surprisingly this low heel with a high price is currently sold out! Time to find an alternative.

Look #3 in Lucky magazine's guide to fall trends presents the potential of print, specifically tribal print. Designers like Matthew Williamson, Isabel Marant, and Proenza Schouler have played around with print in their fall collections. Lucky Magazine recommends the following tips, make the print sexy by wearing it on a formfitting minidress, "elevate cozy, familiar knitwear with skinny white jeans", if wearing fringed boots, play them up by pairing them with the same color pant, balance pattern with minimalist pieces, and "keep the shoes sexy and strappy when wearing printed pants."

Ok so it is finally September, I think I am finally ready to share something with you...I am sooooooo ready for boots and jackets, sweaters and leggings, I mean come on who doesn't want those cooler temps to creep in so you can break out some of your favorite fall pieces?!? So I grabbed that blue and white striped top that was great all throughout summer and instead of pairing it with white bottoms, I paired it with my favorite ankle cropped skinnys. I added a bold gold chunky braided chain and a timeless leather messenger bag. Kicking it up is an outstanding lace-up heeled oxford (L-O-V-E) and to top it all off, the quintessential trench. I spy with my little eye a new shoe trend popping up in Hollywood!!! Gracing the feet of stars like Katie Holmes, Selena Gomez, and Kate Bosworth is the suede bootie, a fall shoe they are embracing now! As summer is drawing closer to the end it's perfectly acceptable to start mixing in your fall pieces. Obviously your cable knits will stay in the closet until it's quite chilly, but there's no reason you can't wear your lightweight layers now! A lighter sweater perforated with pointelle diamonds is purely practical for this time of year, especially if it's in a bright and vibrant shade. Layer it with an equally bright, contrasting cami and pair it with those white hot denim ankle skinnys. Here comes my favorite part, BOOTS!

Ok so I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of excited that high-waisted denim with an exaggerated flare is still holding on strong to be a staple this season. I'm mean really how can you not go boho chic or give a subtle nod to the seventies without this style?!? Speaking of the seventies, the decade's influence is not lost on trends for this fall, but you want to make sure you're not dressed for the disco. The trick to this look is keeping it modern!

The Cure: State of the art Seventies-esque

It's important to remember that certain trends do not require you to actually purchase pieces from the decade, the style is influenced not copied. A high-waisted, exaggerated flare pair of dark denim resembles the cut made popular in the 70's, but still incorporates a modern fit. Pair it with a print blouse, maybe one with a semi-boho look (check out the flutter sleeves) but nothing too over the top.
